Combined Weapon Training teaches students to operate multiple weapon types together—typically handgun and rifle, and when appropriate shotgun—so they can transition smoothly between platforms and apply the right tool for the task. The course emphasizes safe cross-discipline handling, threat assessment, and decision-making when using different weapons in the same encounter.
What You Get in Physical Training
Training begins with dry rehearsals to practice safe transitions, mechanical checks, and platform-specific manipulation. Live-fire blocks alternate between weapons so you practice drawing, re-holstering, and engaging targets with each platform, then transitioning fluidly between them under time pressure. Instructors coach magazine changes, slings and retention for rifles, holster and draw technique for handguns, and safe movement while switching weapons. Every live evolution starts dry and is closely supervised for safety.
Practical Skill Development
You will learn when and how to transition between handgun and rifle, maintain muzzle discipline during transitions, and manage reloads and immediate actions across platforms. The training integrates movement, target prioritization, and use of cover while juggling different ergonomics and sighting methods, helping you develop the muscle memory to act quickly and safely with whatever weapon the situation dictates.
Outcome
After the course you will be more competent at switching between weapons without compromising safety, faster and more reliable at handling stoppages and reloads across platforms, and better able to make practical decisions about deployment and engagement in multi-weapon scenarios. The skills are applicable to responsible armed citizens, security professionals, and anyone wanting to coordinate handgun and long-gun skills safely and effectively.
